Prof. (Dr.) Ashish Bharadwaj

Dr. Ashish Bharadwaj is an Assistant Professor and Assistant Director of Centre for Intellectual Property & Technology Law (CIPTEL) and Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Jindal Global Law School. Dr. Bharadwaj is a founding Editor of the Law and Policy Brief and a Convener of the Jindal Initiative on Research in IP & Competition (JIRICO). He is a recipient of the Max Planck Society doctoral fellowship (2009 - 2013) and is an Erasmus Mundus scholar (2008 - 2009). Dr. Bharadwaj is an affiliated faculty at the Centre for Intellectual Property Research, Maurer School of Law, Indiana University Bloomington. He teaches economics and offers an elective on innovation and society; technology and policy. Dr. Bharadwaj's main areas of interest include industrial innovation and patents, innovation and IPR policies, and topics at the interface of patents and competition. In 2015, he was invited to present his work on national IPR policies in WIPO (Geneva), and in 2013, he has received a grant from the STI Directorate of OECD to scope and populate the IP module of Innovation Policy Platform (an OECD and World Bank initiative). He obtained his Ph.D. from the Max Planck Institute for Innovation & Competition in Munich where he worked on patenting in green technologies across technologically proficient economies. He holds LL.M. in law and economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam, University of Hamburg, and University of Manchester; M.Sc. in economics from Madras School of Economics, and BA (Hons.) in economics from Delhi University.

Mr. Dipinn Verma

Research Assistant , JIRICO

Dipinn Verma, currently working as Research Assistant at Jindal Initiative on Research in IP and Competition (JIRICO), recently completed his masters (LL.M in IPR & Technology) from Centre for Post graduate Legal Studies, O.P. Jindal Global University. His masters thesis was based on the critique of the National IPR Policy focused on Patent laws.

He had earlier completed his BBA.LL.B (5 Yrs Hons) from University School of Law and Legal Studies, I.P. University, New Delhi, where he was awarded the Gold Medal for topping the University. He has also done a one year Diploma course on Entrepreneurship Administration & Business Law, from National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS). His research interests are in the fields of Intellectual Property Rights, Technology and Competition Law and has successfully published in respected journals like Corporate Law Adviser and International Journal of Intellectual Property Rights.
